Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Phil Ivey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and CoCo Ware (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Phil Ivey is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Phil Ivey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, CoCo Ware!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ware misses with a wild body shot.
CoCo Ware seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ware keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Ware misses with an uppercut. Ivey saw that one coming.
Ware misses with a hook. Ivey ducked under it nicely.
Ivey keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Ware misses with a head kick.
Ware jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Ivey lands a nice looking body shot.
Ware throws the left hand but Ivey avoids the punch easily.
Ivey ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Ware looks gassed!
Ivey fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

and Ivey counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Ivey.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ivey controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Ivey has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Ware looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Ivey trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Ivey slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Ivey tries to free his leg and advance position but Ware is retaining full guard.
Ivey is stalling in the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ware is trying to keep Ivey in close.
Ivey looking to pass the guard.
Ivey has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Ware has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Ivey has passed into side control.
Ware is not content to let Ivey control the position.

Ivey fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Ware can't do much from the bottom here.
Ivey controlling from side mount.
Ware tries to strike but it doesn't land.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Ivey jabs at Ware's body.
Ware throws a looping overhand right but Ivey ducks down to avoid it.
Ware cracks the inside of Ivey's front leg.
Ware throws a head kick but Ivey moves out of range.

Ivey avoids the head kick by Ware.
Ware is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Ivey.
Ivey ducks under a wild hook from Ware.
Ivey stalks Ware and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Ware's face. Ware staggers backwards, shaken.


It looks like CoCo Ware has been cut.
Ware throws a sloppy head kick
and Ivey counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
The fighters circling - Ivey throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Ivey scores with a jab to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ivey connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Ware momentarily.
Ware gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Ivey counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Phil Ivey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of CoCo Ware.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Ivey drives through with a takedown into guard.
Ivey trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Ivey stands and throws Ware's legs to the side, diving into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Ivey shoots for a takedown but Ware saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Ware lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Ivey has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Ivey and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Ware throws a nice inside leg kick.

Ivey bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Ware manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Ivey performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Ware pushes Ivey off and gets back to his feet.
Ivey jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Ware moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Ivey lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Ware misses the body punch
letting Ivey counter with a right hand.

Well, if Ivey is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Ivey is keen to just control but Ware is a slippery customer.
Ware is looking to control Ivey's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Ware avoid being mounted?
Ware has his hands clasped together around Ivey's back. He's all about the action.
Ware makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Ware.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Ivey wants to control from the top but Ware keeps moving.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Ware holds on and takes a little breather.
Ware keeping moving, preventing Ivey from controlling successfully.
Ware pulls Ivey in close to prevent any damage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

and Ivey cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Ware looking for a guillotine here but Ivey defends easily.
Ware trying to keep a closed guard but Ivey is proving a slippery customer.
Ivey wants to pass the guard but Ware is keeping the position.
Ware controlling the position.
Ware wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Ivey is now in half guard.

Ivey trying to control the pace.
Ivey missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Ivey is controlling the pace.
Ware wants to control but Ivey is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Ivey stops Ware from getting back to his feet.
Ware is staying active underneath Ivey, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Ivey has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Ivey is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Ware wants to hold on but Ivey pushes him away.
Ivey controlling the pace for now.
Ivey scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Ware?
Ware tries to hold on but Ivey postures up.

Despite being in the dominant position, CoCo Ware just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ivey throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ware.

A telegraphed right hand from Ware misses the target.
Ware lands an overhand right.
Ivey on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Ware. Ware obviously looking to wear him down.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Ware, right into the meat.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Ivey lands a jab-cross combination.
Ivey tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ware swivels and escapes.
Phil Ivey is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Ware throws a combination. Ivey tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ivey takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Ivey misses with a hook. Ware ducked under it nicely.
Ware ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ivey moves away.
Ware throws a solid leg kick but Ivey takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Ware.
Ware lands a really nice looking cross but Ivey seems unphased.

Ware throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Ivey.
Ware misses with a double jab
and Ivey counters with a straight right hand.
CoCo Ware has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Ivey uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Ware.
Donk. Ivey catches Ware right on the button with a cross.
Ivey scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Ware doesn't seem bothered though.
Ivey on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Ware throws a leg kick that is checked
and Ivey counters with a straight right hand.
Ivey misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ware wants to slow Ivey down by chopping away at his legs.
Ware takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Ware walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Ivey shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Ivey was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Phil Ivey.
Well Ivey has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
