Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Flash Spooner (ranked 24745 p4p, 5333 weight class) and Jimmy Nguyen (ranked 310 p4p, 286 weight class). Nguyen has chosen In One Ear as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Spooner rushes Nguyen and presses him up against the cage.

Nguyen slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Spooner wants to stand and escape but Nguyen is having none of it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Spooner is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Nguyen is controlling him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Spooner wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Nguyen manages to pass to side control.
Nguyen takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Let's hope that Nguyen has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Spooner is trying to stand.

Spooner has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Nguyen is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Spooner is surviving well by controlling Nguyen's body position as best he can.

Nguyen has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Spooner! Can he survive? No! He's out! Nguyen gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
