Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Oren Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Woodrow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Woodrow comes into a darkened arena with his song building. The Lumberjack Song kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Oren Hunter!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alexander Woodrow!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Franklyn Lucas and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hunter slips a jab from Woodrow.

Hunter tries a head kick but it misses.
Woodrow moves out of range of the leg kick from Hunter.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Hunter changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Woodrow tries to avoid it but Hunter manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Woodrow to the ground. Woodrow escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Woodrow throws a right hand that Hunter ducks under and follows up with a left that Hunter also avoids with ease.
Hunter lands a head kick. Woodrow smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Hunter is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Woodrow has managed to free his arm - good work.
Woodrow tries to get to full guard but Hunter has control of the leg.

Hunter with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Hunter throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Woodrow because Hunter loaded up on that one.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Hunter has control of Woodrow's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Woodrow regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Alexander Woodrow seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hunter shoots in looking for a takedown. Woodrow tries to sprawl out of it but Hunter keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Woodrow manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Woodrow clobbers Hunter with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Oren Hunter.
Well Hunter has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
