Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alla Pugacheva (ranked 2840 p4p, 2820 weight class) and Corin David (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Aafke Stam and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pugacheva misses with a hook. David ducked under it nicely.
David uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Pugacheva.
Pugacheva throws a head kick that misses.
David throws a body punch but Pugacheva moves out of range.
David swings and misses with a hook to the body.
David tries to clinch there but Pugacheva circles away.
David moves forwards but Pugacheva connects with a nice, crisp jab.
David ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
A looping hook to the body misses from David. Pugacheva does a little dance to reset his feet.
David takes a swing at Pugacheva's ribcage but misses.
David scores with a nice strike.
Pugacheva ducks under a wild hook from David.
David stalks Pugacheva and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Pugacheva's face. Pugacheva staggers backwards, shaken.
David tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Pugacheva was well out of range. Poor timing from David.
David throws a right and a left that both miss.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

We've been told by Pugacheva's head coaches at MMA Training and Sparring Buddies that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Pugacheva. David shrugs it off though.
David is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Pugacheva rather than just go for the knockout.
David works Pugacheva's body with a nice hook.
David swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Pugacheva lands a straight punch to the body, keeping David at a distance.
David comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

David gets tackled into the cage by Pugacheva. Pugacheva maintains the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on David's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Pugacheva crunches a lovely knee into David's ribcage.

David blocks the elbow strike.
Pugacheva misses with a knee to the head.
Pugacheva pushes David back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
David wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Pugacheva is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Pugacheva just leaning against David, taking a breather.
Pugacheva throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but David blocks it with crossed arms.
Pugacheva will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning David up against the cage.
The referee calls for Pugacheva to work.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Alla Pugacheva.
Pugacheva smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

David with the counter takedown but Pugacheva avoids it easily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Alla Pugacheva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
David steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Pugacheva.
Pugacheva will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

David has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

It looked like Pugacheva was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from David.
Pugacheva shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Despite the aggression on David's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Pugacheva closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Pugacheva tries to sprawl but David drives through with a takedown into half guard.
David content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Pugacheva is pressing down on David's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
David must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
David throws a big elbow that misses.
Pugacheva pulls David in close to his closed guard and prevents David from doing any damage or advancing position.
