PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Nexaras Maltus (ranked 5542 p4p, 25030 weight class) and Matt Collins (ranked 565 p4p, 598 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Collins's choice of entrance music: .... The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nexaras Maltus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matt Collins!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Franklyn Lucas and Dean Styles.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maltus tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Collins manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Collins looks to land a combination but Maltus avoids it well.
Maltus is looking to clinch.
Maltus moves into range and connects with a jab.
Maltus misses with a body kick.
Collins slips a jab and a cross from Maltus.
Collins on the wrong end of a nice jab.
The fight stays on the outside here - Maltus looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Collins tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Maltus paws at him with a jab and circles away.
As Collins looks to move away, Maltus throws a big counter combo but Collins just gets out of the way.
Maltus uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Collins.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Collins misses with a hook
and Maltus counters with a left to the body.
A solid body kick from Maltus.
Collins misses with a lunging right hand
and Maltus counters with a series of strikes. Collins will be more careful next time no doubt.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Maltus tries to clinch but Collins is having none of it.
Maltus catches Collins napping and connects with a fantastic 3 punch combination that sends Collins crashing to the mat! He's still conscious but he's all over the place - can he beat the count?!? 4,5,6,7,8...9...10! He didn't make it back to his feet! Maltus raises both arms skywards and takes in the roar from the crowd!
