Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Greg Stevenson!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnny Guapo!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guapo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Stevenson as he jumps to the side.

Guapo gets the takedown into side control.
Guapo looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Stevenson is avoiding damage well.

Guapo tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Stevenson is looking to regain half guard here but Guapo keeps moving and retains side control.

Guapo wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Stevenson, who protects the arm well.
Stevenson is not content to let Guapo control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Guapo tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Guapo is looking to take a break and control but Stevenson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Stevenson scores with a nice strike.


It looks like Johnny Guapo has been cut.
Stevenson takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Guapo looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Guapo is looking to work some ground and pound but Stevenson has wrist control.

Guapo looking to pass the guard.
Guapo wants to control from the top but Stevenson keeps moving.

Guapo postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Stevenson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Guapo, into his guard.
Guapo pulls Stevenson in close to prevent any damage.
Stevenson wants to control from the top but Guapo keeps moving.

Stevenson throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Guapo throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Stevenson escapes and throws Guapo's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Guapo is not content to let Stevenson control the position.

Guapo stops Stevenson from passing to mount.
Stevenson trying to control the action but Guapo is working from the bottom.
Guapo tries to improve position but can't.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Guapo lands a jab-cross combination.
Guapo throws a jab when Stevenson was well out of range.
Guapo slips a straight right by Stevenson.
Guapo looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Stevenson is fending him off so far but Guapo persists. Nope, Stevenson circles away and we're back to standing.
Guapo shoots in for a takedown but Stevenson shows good takedown defense.
Greg Stevenson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnny Guapo.
A swing and a miss from Stevenson.
Guapo lands a body shot.
Guapo fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Stevenson manages to avoid it.
Stevenson throws a sloppy head kick and Guapo moves out of range easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Stevenson takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Stevenson thows a body shot but no joy.
Some wild striking there from Guapo.
A shot to the body from Guapo misses
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Stevenson throws a series of punches but Guapo moves out of range.
Greg Stevenson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Stevenson throws a leg kick that misses.
Stevenson steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Guapo.
Stevenson lands with a right hand.
Stevenson doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Guapo counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

A shot to the body from Guapo misses
and Stevenson counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Guapo is breathing heavily.
Guapo just misses with a punch to the body.
A nice leg kick lands there from Stevenson.
Stevenson avoids the body shot from Guapo.
Stevenson connects with the punch.
Guapo shoots and misses
and Stevenson counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Stevenson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Guapo's waist but Guapo gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Stevenson off to one side.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Guapo shoots and misses
and Stevenson counters with a left and a right that stings Guapo.
Stevenson looks to land a combination but Guapo avoids it well.
Guapo missing with a left hand there. Stevenson was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Stevenson scores with a jab to the head.
Stevenson lunges at Guapo with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Guapo's hand.
Stevenson throws a head kick that misses.
Stevenson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Guapo takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Stevenson throws a jab when Guapo was well out of range.
Stevenson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Guapo.
Guapo works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Guapo is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Stevenson.
Stevenson slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Greg Stevenson is winning the standup battle so far.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A combination from Stevenson does no damage.
Stevenson throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Guapo on the side of the head.
Guapo doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Stevenson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.


Guapo is rocked!
Greg Stevenson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnny Guapo.
Stevenson lands with a right and another and another! Guapo is in big trouble! Stevenson lands again and this time it's lights out for Guapo! A quality knockout there for Stevenson.
