PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Unudda Faita (ranked 3106 p4p, 4093 weight class) and Rashad Stark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Unudda Faita had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Unudda Faita!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rashad Stark!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Josh West and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Faita uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Stark has time to react.

It looks like Rashad Stark has been cut.
Faita swings for the body but Stark moves out of range.
A leg kick checked by Faita.
Faita swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Faita lands a jab to Stark's midsection.
A decent looking cross lands there for Faita.
Stark staying out of range there.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Stark.
Stark fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Stark trying to control the position but Faita is working away.
Faita is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Faita is trying to escape the position but Stark is controlling the position.
Stark wants to stand but Faita is controlling his arm.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Faita on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Faita tries to get out of the position.

Stark working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Stark tries to stand but Faita is controlling his head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Faita tries to improve position but can't.
Stark wants to control but Faita is keeping him busy.
Stark content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Faita tries to buck Stark off but Stark is having none of it.

Stark thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Stark wants to control but Faita is keeping him busy.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Stark throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Stark controls the position from side control.
Stark wants to stand but Faita is controlling his arm.
Stark controlling from side mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Stark wants to stand but Faita has his arm trapped.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Faita looks to land a left hand but Stark moved out of range nicely.
Stark let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Faita throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Faita is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Stark.
Stark takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Stark will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Stark rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Faita moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
A quick step to the side and Faita tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Unudda Faita seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Faita avoids the body shot from Stark.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Stark moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Faita misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Stark.
Stark throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Faita dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Unudda Faita will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Rashad Stark's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Stark takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Faita is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Stark can do to turn this around?
Nice sprawl there from Faita as Stark shoots in.
Faita works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

That has opened up Rashad Stark's cut even more.
Faita thuds a left hand into Stark's body.
Stark is aggressively charging in as Faita backs up avoiding any damage. Faita tosses out a jab and Stark runs right into it face first! Stark is out cold! Faita dropped down on all fours and is barking in Stark's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Unudda Faita!
