PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andre Koefti (ranked 2111 p4p, 5578 weight class) and Sand Storm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Koefti comes to the cage accompanied by IZ - E Ala E. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Andre Koefti!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Sand Storm!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Saam Ante and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koefti swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Storm looks to land a right hand but Koefti moved out of range.
Storm fails with a takedown attempt.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Storm.
Storm slips a jab from Koefti.
Storm tries to clinch up
and Koefti makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Storm misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The crowd cheers as Koefti lands an impressive looking overhand right. Storm doesn't seem phased though.

It looks like Sand Storm has been cut.
Koefti fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Storm on the side of the head.
Storm misses with a body kick.
Koefti appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Andre Koefti seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Koefti digs a good hook to Storm's body.

Koefti cracks Storm with an uppercut from hell and Storm crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Koefti's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!

Storm is rocked!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Koefti controls from within his opponent's guard.
Storm is still in real trouble! Can Koefti finish him?
Koefti has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Storm seems to have recovered his senses.
Koefti postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Storm looking for a guillotine here but Koefti defends easily.
Koefti is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Koefti connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Koefti connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Storm takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Koefti throws a nice inside leg kick.
Good exchange - Koefti coming out on top.

That has opened up Sand Storm's cut even more.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Koefti lands with a right hand.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Koefti, as that shot connected.
Storm shoots in but no luck this time.
Koefti was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Andre Koefti has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sand Storm.
Storm looks winded!
Storm takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Storm tries to close the distance and clinch up but Koefti swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Storm is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Koefti jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Storm looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Koefti walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Storm drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Koefti swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Storm's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Andre Koefti!
