The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Collins tests Jiurgite's chin there with a solid looking shot.

It looks like ZÃ© Jiurgite has been cut.
Collins takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Collins changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Jiurgite displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Collins throws out the jab.

Brad Collins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jiurgite looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Jiurgite sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Collins throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Jiurgite.

Collins throws a leg kick which misses Jiurgite's front leg but catches the back leg as Jiurgite tries to avoid it.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Collins has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Jiurgite is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Collins.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Collins has his foot on Jiurgite's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jiurgite works his way back into a safe position though.

and Collins decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jiurgite's guard.
Collins postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Collins is working Jiurgite over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Collins got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jiurgite has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Collins has managed to get both his arms back between Jiurgite's legs - danger averted.

Collins gets to his feet and stands over Jiurgite, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Jiurgite felt that one! Collins unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Jiurgite from any more punishment!
