Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Android Sixty Five (ranked 5088 p4p, 3893 weight class) and David McDonald (ranked 456 p4p, 388 weight class). McDonald comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Dirty Glass - Dropkick Murphys kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Android Sixty Five!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, David McDonald!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Johanna Lukiainen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDonald swings and misses with a hook to the body.
McDonald misses with a straight right.
Sixty Five tries for a takedown but McDonald sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
McDonald slaps away a takedown attempt from Sixty Five, before circling back to the center of the mat.

McDonald rushes Sixty Five and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sixty Five drops to a knee looking for a takedown but McDonald gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Android Sixty Five. That's going to take a lot out of him.
McDonald lands a left hand that snaps the head of Sixty Five backwards.
McDonald misses with a hook to the ribs.

Sixty Five blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Sixty Five tries to pull guard but McDonald holds him up against the cage and eventually Sixty Five drops back down to his feet.
Sixty Five blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Sixty Five tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. McDonald just stands there and leans against the cage.

McDonald is pressed up against the cage. Sixty Five has hold of a leg and is looking to drag McDonald down to the mat. McDonald avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
A looping hook to the body misses from McDonald. Sixty Five does a little dance to reset his feet.
McDonald throws a body punch but Sixty Five moves out of range.

Sixty Five closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into McDonald's guard.

Sixty Five is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

McDonald looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

McDonald seems keen to control Sixty Five's posture.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sixty Five slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

McDonald looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sixty Five is one step ahead there.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
McDonald looks to land a right hand but Sixty Five moved out of range.
Sixty Five tries to score a power double leg takedown but McDonald sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Sixty Five somewhat.
McDonald is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Sixty Five with a body shot.
McDonald stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and McDonald wants it to stay on the feet.
McDonald throws a body punch but Sixty Five moves out of range.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
McDonald swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Sixty Five counters with a shoot takedown. McDonald fights it but they end up in guard.

Sixty Five is looking to pass into half guard but McDonald pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now McDonald is in guard.

McDonald throws a hook to the side of Sixty Five's head but Sixty Five sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Sixty Five prevents McDonald from getting the reversal.
Sixty Five manages to capitalize on a mistake by McDonald to take his back!

McDonald just trying to survive but Sixty Five is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
McDonald tries to roll but Sixty Five sticks to his back.
Sixty Five has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of McDonald's body.

Sixty Five working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sixty Five is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but McDonald has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
McDonald tries to break free.

McDonald trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
McDonald rolls, trying to escape but Sixty Five keeps control of the position.
Sixty Five is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Sixty Five is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. McDonald defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

McDonald is having to fend off submission attempts from Sixty Five, who is looking to sink in the choke. Sixty Five doesn't have the hooks in though and McDonald manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

McDonald has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
