Short kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Survivor - Eye Of The Tiger. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leonov scores with a decent looking hook.
Short showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Leonov.
Short is trying hard to land a takedown here. Leonov sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Donk. Leonov catches Short right on the button with a cross.
Leonov stuffs the takedown.
Leonov throws out a counter right but Short avoids it with no problem.
Leonov defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Short.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jerry Short. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Leonov scores with a sloppy right hand. Short should have avoided that one.

It looks like Jerry Short has been cut.
Leonov cracks Short with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Short fails to land the takedown.
A slapping leg kick lands for Leonov.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Leonov throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Nice sprawl there from Leonov as Short shoots in.

Leonov cracks Short with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Leonov looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Short half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Short fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Leonov! Short is out on his feet! Leonov rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Short is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Short is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
