Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jack Jenkins Jr (ranked 3462 p4p, 5201 weight class) and Layne Mcclain (ranked 242 p4p, 300 weight class). Layne Mcclain will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Jenkins Jr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Layne Mcclain!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Percy O'Donnell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice inside leg kick there by Jenkins Jr. That's going to slow Mcclain down.
Jenkins Jr throws a lazy body kick
and Mcclain makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Mcclain bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Jenkins Jr's head backwards.
Jenkins Jr takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Jenkins Jr needs to keep his hands up - Mcclain had a free shot at his head there.
Jenkins Jr takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Jenkins Jr takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Mcclain goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jenkins Jr throws a sloppy head kick
and Mcclain counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Jenkins Jr throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Mcclain lands a nice shot that snaps Jenkins Jr's head back.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mcclain misses with a series of wild punches.

Jenkins Jr forces Mcclain back against the cage and clinches.
Mcclain is pressed up against the cage. Jenkins Jr has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Mcclain down to the mat. Mcclain avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Jenkins Jr is breathing heavily.
Mcclain lands a glancing blow to the side of Jenkins Jr's head.
Mcclain throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Mcclain lands a jab to the nose.
Mcclain lands a lovely overhand right.
Jenkins Jr tries to move into range but Mcclain moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jenkins Jr's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Mcclain connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Jenkins Jr scrambles back to his feet.

Jenkins Jr is rocked!
Nice jab there from Mcclain.
Oh Jenkins Jr is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Mcclain swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Jenkins Jr holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Mcclain scores with a nice hook to the head.
Jenkins Jr seems to have got his legs back now.
Jenkins Jr wants a takedown but no success here.
Jenkins Jr lands a nice knee to the body.
Mcclain tries to throw a body punch but Jenkins Jr avoids it by throwing Mcclain back against the cage.

Jenkins Jr breaks the clinch.
Jenkins Jr doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Mcclain looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Mcclain is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Jenkins Jr had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.
Mcclain connects with a good right hand that stumbles Jenkins Jr. Jenkins Jr circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jenkins Jr tries for a takedown but Mcclain circles away easily
and Mcclain counters with a straight right hand.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Jenkins Jr. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mcclain lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Mcclain is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Jenkins Jr takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Mcclain connects with a body shot.
Mcclain bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Jenkins Jr's head.
Mcclain scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Mcclain lands a body shot.
Jenkins Jr walks into a left hand.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mcclain jabs at Jenkins Jr's body.
Mcclain lands a jab to Jenkins Jr's midsection.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A decent looking cross lands there for Mcclain.
Mcclain lands a lovely overhand right.
Jenkins Jr takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Jab by Mcclain.
Mcclain works the jab nicely.
Mcclain has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Mcclain digs a good hook to Jenkins Jr's body.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Layne Mcclain dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Mcclain misses with a series of wild punches.
Layne Mcclain seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Mcclain lands a body shot.

Mcclain tries to keep at a distance but Jenkins Jr has taken the fight into the clinch.
Jenkins Jr will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Mcclain up against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mcclain working aggressively here.
Jenkins Jr has Mcclain pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Mcclain manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Mcclain is trying to break the clinch but Jenkins Jr has him pressed against the cage.

Jenkins Jr pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Mcclain keeps the fight on the outside.
Mcclain bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Mcclain uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Jack Jenkins Jr is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jenkins Jr takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Mcclain scores with a punch to the head.
A left lands for Mcclain.
Jenkins Jr walks into a left hand.
Jenkins Jr looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Mcclain gets in close and tags Jenkins Jr with a short punch that almost sends Jenkins Jr to the mat! Oh Jenkins Jr is in big trouble! He turns his back on Mcclain, trying to create some distance but Mcclain rushes him, striking wildly and Jenkins Jr goes down! The referee tackles Mcclain into the cage to end the fight! Mcclain is one violent man!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Layne Mcclain!
