Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Casey Peterson (ranked 1956 p4p, 2610 weight class) and Jonathas Araujo (ranked 154 p4p, 188 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Casey Peterson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jonathas Araujo!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Reed Andrews and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Araujo gets tackled into the cage by Peterson. Peterson maintains the clinch.
Araujo wants to break free but Peterson has control.
Peterson gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Araujo.
Peterson definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Peterson lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.

It looks like Jonathas Araujo has been cut.
Peterson lands an elbow that stopped Araujo in his tracks for a moment.
Peterson lands a damaging elbow.
Araujo is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Peterson gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Peterson swings wildly with an uppercut but Araujo uses good head movement to avoid it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Araujo gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Peterson regains guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Araujo is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Peterson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Peterson has escaped and now he's on top!

Araujo is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Peterson wants to pass the guard but Araujo is keeping the position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Araujo is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Peterson gets full guard.

Araujo drops back, looking for a kneebar! Peterson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Peterson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Peterson!

Peterson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Araujo keeps working.

Peterson tries to move into full mount but can't pass Araujo's legs.
Araujo seems a little lost for a moment, as Peterson dominates the positioning.
Peterson continues to stall.
Both fighters take a look at the clock.
Peterson passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Araujo!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Araujo is squirming around, avoiding Peterson's attempts to control the action.
Araujo wants to control but Peterson is having none of it.
Araujo tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Peterson avoids the attempt from Araujo to control.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Araujo shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Araujo closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Peterson quickly recovers to half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Peterson is in trouble now - Araujo has advanced to mount!
Araujo can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Peterson is looking to escape.
Araujo seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Peterson is holding on tight.

Araujo goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Peterson turns into him and now he's in Araujo's guard.
Araujo pulls Peterson in close to his closed guard and prevents Peterson from doing any damage or advancing position.

Araujo moves forwards but Peterson connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Araujo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Peterson tries to avoid it but Araujo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Peterson to the ground. Peterson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
