Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michal Materla (ranked 4908 p4p, 4190 weight class) and Heath Delgado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Michal Materla!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Heath Delgado!
The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Bruno Hogan and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Materla swats away the attempt to clinch by Delgado.
Delgado will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Delgado throws a series of punches but Materla avoids them all with ease.
Materla tries for a takedown but Delgado sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Delgado stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Delgado wants it to stay on the feet.

Materla clinches.

Delgado lands a takedown into guard.
Materla wants to stand up but Delgado is controlling him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Delgado is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Materla had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Delgado defends it easily.

Materla is trying to control the position but Delgado postures up.

Delgado stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Materla swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Delgado takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Delgado tries to score with a low kick but Materla moves his leg out of the way.

Materla seems a little lost for a moment, as Delgado dominates the positioning.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Delgado tries to advance to mount but can't.
Delgado prevents Materla from escaping the position.
Delgado wants to stand but Materla has his arm trapped.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Materla keeps the fight on the outside.
Delgado circles away from the clinch attempt.

Delgado fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Materla, pushing him back against the cage.
Materla really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Delgado takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Materla is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Delgado gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Delgado breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Michal Materla is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Delgado closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Materla's guard.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Delgado clinches up with Materla and pushes him back against the cage.

Materla wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Delgado pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Materla shoots in for a takedown but Delgado shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Delgado uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Materla.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Delgado breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Heath Delgado comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Delgado has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
