Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shen Po (ranked 1772 p4p, 2170 weight class) and Abdullah Zaire (ranked 255 p4p, 293 weight class). Po's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Ei-tetsu Hayashi & 木下伸市. The crowd seem to be enjoying Zaire's choice of entrance music: Hypnotize U by N*E*R*D. Abdullah Zaire will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Shen Po!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Abdullah Zaire!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, William Peck and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Po connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Po misses with a takedown attempt
and Zaire counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Po shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Po looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Po trying to control the action but Zaire is working from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Zaire is trying to stand up here but Po is controlling him well.

Zaire manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Po keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Po blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Po lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Zaire backwards.
Po has Zaire pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Zaire manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Po wants to sweep here but Zaire controlling him for the moment.

We've been hearing good reports from Po's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Po is on top in guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Po throws a looping overhand right but Zaire ducks down to avoid it.
Po throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Zaire appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Po tries to clinch but Zaire moves out of range.
Zaire avoids a punch combination nicely.
Zaire tries a quick counter leg kick but Po is wise to it.
Po bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
The fight stays on the outside here - Po looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Zaire looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

and Zaire counters with a stiff right hand.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shen Po. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A punch lands to the side of Zaire 's head but he takes it in his stride.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Po lands with a hook. Zaire tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Zaire has closed the distance and engaged Po in a clinch.
Po trying to stall but Zaire improves his position.
Po throws a head punch that misses.

Po lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Zaire backwards.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Zaire takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Po loads up on a big right hand but Zaire slips the punch.
Zaire unleashes a big counter combination but Po bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Zaire lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
It looks like Shen Po has been cut.
Po throws a poor cross that misses
and Zaire counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Po connects with a looping right hand.
Po throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Po.
Po is looking to take a break and control but Zaire is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Zaire can't do much from the bottom here.

Shen Po overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Po has control of Zaire's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Zaire regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Zaire is in all sorts of trouble here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Zaire tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Po sizes up Zaire with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Po shoots in for a double leg but Zaire sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Zaire was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Po throws a looping overhand right but Zaire ducks down to avoid it.

Shen Po is winning the standup battle so far.

Po can't find room to land a body shot as Zaire controls the action.

Zaire is pressed up against the cage. Po has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Zaire down to the mat. Zaire avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Zaire stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Zaire wants it to stay on the feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Zaire comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Po fails with the takedown
and Zaire counters with a three punch combo that has Po backing up. Po nods at Zaire to acknowledge the strikes.
Po is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Po shoots for a double leg takedown but Zaire sprawls well. He's pushed Po's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Zaire counters with a body kick.

Po on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Zaire wants to clinch up but Po keeps it at a distance.
Zaire is looking to slow Po down with leg kicks.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Po swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Po seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Zaire shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Po is backing up but Zaire catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Po covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Zaire Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Abdullah Zaire!
A relieved looking Abdullah Zaire thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
