The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flowers closes the distance and clinches up with Mayo, looking for a takedown. Flowers pushes Mayo against the cage but Mayo circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Mayo avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Mayo throws a sloppy head kick and Flowers moves out of range easily.

Mayo drives through with a takedown into guard.
Mayo controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mayo sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Flowers's guard.
Flowers tries to get to full guard but Mayo has control of the leg.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mayo is working for a submission of some sort.
Flowers is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Mayo has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Flowers defend it? Mayo steps over the head and cranks it - Flowers is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Mayo!
