PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Constable Odo (ranked 1567 p4p, 2548 weight class) and Zurabi Vakhtangishvili (ranked 175 p4p, 268 weight class). Odo comes to the cage accompanied by Asking Alexandria - Morte et Dabo. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vakhtangishvili clinches up against the cage.
Odo tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Vakhtangishvili lands a body punch in the clinch.
Odo lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Vakhtangishvili backwards.
Odo misses with a punch to the body.
Vakhtangishvili can't find room to land a body shot as Odo controls the action.
Odo misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Vakhtangishvili doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Odo lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Vakhtangishvili or not.
Vakhtangishvili struggles to land a body shot inside as Odo controls his hands.
Odo blocks the elbow strike.
Nice body punch from Vakhtangishvili - that landed with a thud.
Odo swings wildly with an uppercut but Vakhtangishvili uses good head movement to avoid it.
Odo takes an elbow to the forehead.
Vakhtangishvili pushes off an throws an elbow but Odo leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Odo tries to work over Vakhtangishvili's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

We've been told by Odo's head coaches at The House Of Pain that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Odo throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Odo throws a quick inside leg kick.
Constable Odo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Odo takes a swing at Vakhtangishvili's ribcage but misses.

Vakhtangishvili moves in looking to clinch but Odo pushes him off.
Odo throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Vakhtangishvili sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Vakhtangishvili takes one on the chin but seems OK.

It looks like Zurabi Vakhtangishvili has been cut.
Odo throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Vakhtangishvili on the side of the head.
Odo lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Odo throws a body shot but no joy.
Odo throws a hook but Vakhtangishvili avoids it easily.
Odo cracks Vakhtangishvili with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Vakhtangishvili tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Odo pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Vakhtangishvili is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Constable Odo bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
