The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jetstream fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Thornton avoids it really well and circles away.
Thornton moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Thornton shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Jetstream eats them both and turns towards Thornton to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Billy Jetstream seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jetstream shoots in for a takedown but Thornton shows good takedown defense.
As Jetstream backs off Thornton throws a huge counter combo but Jetstream manages to avoid it all.
Jetstream shoots in looking for a takedown but Thornton manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jetstream's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Billy Jetstream. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jetstream dives in and grabs Thornton's left leg, looking for a takedown. Thornton pushes down on Jetstream's head and hops out.
Jetstream looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Jetstream shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Thornton pinned against the cage. Thornton gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Jetstream is working to tighten his grip on Thornton's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Thornton has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Jetstream is really squeezing tight and eventually Thornton passes out! Jetstream breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
