The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hui misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Silva had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Hui is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Silva Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Hui's back instead.

Silva has his opponent's back but Hui is looking to stand. He manages to get to his feet and shakes off Silva.
Silva has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Silva there as he acknowledges the shot.
Hui wants to clinch up but Silva keeps it at a distance.

Hui has hold of one of Silva's legs. Silva is fighting the takedown attempt but Hui gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hui not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The cut above Felipe Silva's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

The referee asks Hui politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Hui prefers to stall for the moment though.
Silva seems to have recovered his senses.

Hui decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Hui doesn't manage to clinch there - Silva circles away.

Hui moves into the clinch.
Hui lands a damaging elbow.

Hui has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Silva clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Hui biding his time, controlling Silva.
Hui's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Hui seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Silva for as long as he can get away with.
You can see the frustration on Silva's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Derek Hui just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Silva shoots in and bounces Hui off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Silva stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hui swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hui pulls Silva in close to prevent any damage.

Hui tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Silva paws at him with a jab and circles away.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The is referee keeping an eye on Hui - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Felipe Silva's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
