The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Karlsson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Chaves sprawls well initially but Karlsson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Karlsson is working for a kimura but Chaves is defending it quite comfortably.
Chaves is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Chaves slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Chaves controls Karlsson momentarily but Karlsson frees himself.

Chaves is looking for a triangle here but Karlsson uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Chaves takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Karlsson has hold of Chaves's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Chaves seems comfortable defending it but Karlsson has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Chaves is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Chaves is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Karlsson couldn't care less - he's delighted!
