Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Esteban Cinco (ranked 2428 p4p, 2797 weight class) and Ejnar Korsgaard (ranked 269 p4p, 299 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Esteban Cinco!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ejnar Korsgaard!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cinco closes the distance and clinches.
Korsgaard looking to slow down the pace here.
Cinco misses with a punch to the body.
Cinco can't find room to land a body shot as Korsgaard controls the action.

and Cinco counters with a right hand to the body.

Cinco doesn't manage to clinch there - Korsgaard circles away.

Cinco moves into the clinch successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cinco jumps guard but Korsgaard stands there with Cinco around his waist. Cinco gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Korsgaard is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Korsgaard trying to control the position but instead, Cinco has worked for underhooks and has pushed Korsgaard into the ropes.
Korsgaard is trying to slow the pace down but that's a couple of times in a row that he's tried to get underhooks and Cinco has denied him.

Cinco has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Korsgaard after a bit of a struggle.

Cinco is trying to maintain a safe position but Korsgaard gets an underhook and turns Cinco into the ropes.

Cinco tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Korsgaard avoids it.
Cinco is trying to maintain a safe position but Korsgaard gets an underhook and turns Cinco into the ropes.

Cinco pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Ejnar Korsgaard.
Korsgaard throws a leg kick but Cinco moved away.
Korsgaard fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Cinco.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Korsgaard cracks Cinco with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the ropes.

Cinco clinches up with Korsgaard and pushes him back against the ropes.

Cinco fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Korsgaard pushes Cinco back against the ropes and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Cinco breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Cinco shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Cinco showed some decent athleticism there.
Korsgaard is looking to get back to is feet but Cinco passes into side control.

Cinco wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Korsgaard, who protects the arm well.
Cinco misses with the ground and pound.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

That's five minutes gone in the round.
Cinco in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Korsgaard is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the ropes but Cinco has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Korsgaard takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Cinco is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Korsgaard's shoulder. That is not cool.
Cinco works to advance to full mount. Korsgaard defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

That's six minutes gone in the round.
Cinco lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Cinco controlling his opponent.
Cinco seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Korsgaard for as long as he can get away with.
Cinco continues to stall.

That's seven minutes gone in the round.
Korsgaard felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
More hug and hope from Cinco.
Cinco has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Cinco takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Cinco lands a couple of good shots and Korsgaard has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
What can Korsgaard do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Cinco's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Korsgaard is trying to get back to his feet but Cinco has full control of the position and if anything, Korsgaard has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Cinco is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Korsgaard has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Cinco has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Korsgaard taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Cinco doesn't care though - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 9:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Esteban Cinco!
