The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simons checks a leg kick.
Simons swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Simons scores with a three punch combo!

It looks like Bobojo Makoba has been cut.
Makoba steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Simons.
Simons sets himself, and Makoba steps forward looking for the clinch! Simons avoids it this time.
The crowd cheers as Makoba lands an impressive looking overhand right. Simons doesn't seem phased though.

It looks like Russ Simons has been cut.
Simons misses with a series of wild punches.
Simons keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Makoba throws a right hand that Simons ducks under and follows up with a left that Simons also avoids with ease.
Makoba wants to clinch.
Simons misses with the combination.

Simons drops Makoba with a beautiful combination! Makoba stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Simons is looking for the KO!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Makoba tries to land a leg kick but Simons saw it coming and moves away.
A looping hook to the body misses from Makoba. Simons does a little dance to reset his feet.

Simons thows a left - swing and a miss!
Makoba lands with an overhand left.
Makoba scores with a jab.
Simons looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Makoba is looking to slow Simons down with leg kicks.
Simons misses with a few strikes there.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Makoba.
Makoba tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Simons is able to avoid easily.
Makoba scores with a jab to the head.

Russ Simons's cut is getting worse.
A slow jab from Simons misses its intended target.
Makoba throws a body shot but no joy.
Makoba fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Simons checks it well.
Simons wants to stay close but Makoba steps back to make room for something. Simons seems frozen to the spot and bam! huge swing of the leg from Makoba and Simons drops like he has been shot! A huge head kick and it's all over!
