PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jacob Handler (ranked 1101 p4p, 1512 weight class) and Eoin Chai (ranked 136 p4p, 187 weight class). Handler comes to the cage accompanied by KEEPINITBEEFY. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jacob Handler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Eoin Chai!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Ben Hemmingworth and Topper Green.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Handler clinches up with Chai and pushes him back against the cage.
Chai scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Chai tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Handler's elbow.
Chai has a couple of punches blocked by Handler.
Handler has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Chai is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Chai tries to break the clinch but Handler is controlling the position.
Handler misses with the head strike.
Handler works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Handler lands a left hand that snaps the head of Chai backwards.

Handler has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Chai is trying to keep an underhook but Handler manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Handler thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Handler is looking to take a break and control but Chai is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Chai keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Chai holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Handler tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Handler looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Chai feints and then cracks Handler's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Handler down.
Eoin Chai seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Handler shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Chai napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Chai is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Handler.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jacob Handler.
I think Handler has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
