And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 7 wins and 5 losses; Roman Kersikov!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Colin Fotheringham and William Gold.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
McDonald shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kersikov pinned against the ropes. Kersikov gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
McDonald dives in and grabs Kersikov's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kersikov pushes down on McDonald's head and hops out.
McDonald has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Blacktalians MMA in the buildup to the fight.
McDonald leaves Kersikov with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
McDonald tries to counter with a takedown but Kersikov is quick to defend against it.

McDonald gets a double leg takedown into Kersikov's guard.

McDonald is trying to hold Kersikov in close to prevent damage but Kersikov has managed to pass into half guard.
McDonald tries to get to full guard but Kersikov has control of the leg.
McDonald has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kersikov is working away from the top position though.
McDonald tries to roll over but Kersikov keeps him under control.

McDonald has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kersikov can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Kersikov is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

You can see the frustration on McDonald's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
