Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris Sanders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sanders comes to the cage accompanied by Con te Partiro. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Sanders!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matt Carter!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanders gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Sanders closes this distance looking for a takedown but Carter circles away.
Carter jabs Sanders right on the nose. Sanders blinks but takes it well.
Carter is looking to chop away at Sanders's legs.
Sanders shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Carter as he avoids it easily.
Sanders is looking to clinch.
Sanders checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Carter scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Sanders moves in looking to clinch but Carter pushes him off.
Sanders throws a nice outside leg kick.
Carter misses with a few strikes there.

Sanders tries to clinch up but Carter circles away and keeps his distance.

It looks like Matt Carter has been cut.
Sanders stops a takedown attempt from Carter.
Carter drops down looking for an ankle pick but Sanders pulls his leg out and moves away.
Carter lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Sanders tries to clinch up but Carter circles away and keeps his distance.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sanders working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Sanders seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.

Carter lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Carter pivots, looking for a leg kick but Sanders is out of range and Carter settles back down.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Sanders takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Carter's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Carter duly obliges.

The fight stays on the outside here - Sanders looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Carter shoots in but no luck this time.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Carter counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Sanders has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Carter finds it's way round the side to connect with Sanders's head.

Sanders takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Matt Carter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carter stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
The fighters circling - Carter throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Sanders has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Carter can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Carter got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sanders has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Carter has managed to get both his arms back between Sanders's legs - danger averted.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Matt Carter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Carter lands with an uppercut that bounces Sanders off the cage and back into rage.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Carter scores with a sloppy right hand. Sanders should have avoided that one.
Carter throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Sanders on the side of the head.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Chris Sanders.
I think Sanders has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
