Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Richard Hall (ranked 308 p4p, 622 weight class) and Haruki Muramaki (ranked 45 p4p, 81 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Richard Hall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Haruki Muramaki!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Reed Andrews and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hall shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Muramaki defends it nicely.
Muramaki swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Hall feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Hall slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Muramaki wants to stand up but Hall is controlling him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hall thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Hall avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Hall stays in close to Muramaki's body and controls the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hall is fighting to break Muramaki's control of his arms but Muramaki is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Hall trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Hall trying to control the position from guard on top but Muramaki is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hall is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Muramaki is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Hall ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

and Muramaki counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Muramaki misses with a straight right.
Hall misses with a takedown attempt - Muramaki sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Muramaki swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Richard Hall. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Horrible takedown attempt by Hall or perhaps it was just good defense by Muramaki, which made it look bad.
Hall shoots and misses

and Muramaki counters with a crisp right hand that drops Hall! Muramaki lets Hall back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

Hall is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Muramaki throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hall sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Oh Hall is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hall shoots in but Muramaki avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Hall shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Muramaki sprawls well. Muramaki wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hall gets slowly back to his feet.
Hall seems to have got his legs back now.
Nice sprawl there from Muramaki as Hall shoots in.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Muramaki! But no joy.
Hall avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Hall shoots in looking for a takedown. Muramaki tries to sprawl out of it but Hall keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Muramaki manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hall fails to land the takedown.
Muramaki stuffs the takedown attempt from Hall. Hall gets slowly back to his feet.
Muramaki unleashes a big counter combination but Hall bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Hall changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Muramaki tries to avoid it but Hall manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Muramaki to the ground. Muramaki escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Muramaki leaves Hall with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Muramaki! But no joy.
Muramaki lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Hall closes this distance looking for a takedown but Muramaki circles away.
Richard Hall seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hall scores with a takedown into Muramaki's guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Muramaki can do anything to dispel that myth.
Hall controlling from the top position.
Hall prevents Muramaki from getting back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Muramaki is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Hall slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Muramaki is not content to let Hall control the position.
Muramaki tries to bench press Hall off him but Hall keeps the position.
Muramaki wants to get back to his feet.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Haruki Muramaki dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Hall shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Muramaki but Muramaki pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Muramaki displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Hall.
Muramaki stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Richard Hall. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hall darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Hall is thwarting Muramaki's attempts to control the position.
Hall wants to take a breather but Muramaki is having none of it.
Muramaki really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hall. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hall works his way into full mount!

Muramaki flails away from the bottom, looking to strike but he's give an arm to his opponent... uh oh. Hall wraps up the arm in an instant and pivots for an armbar! Tap or snap time - Muramaki decides to tap! Lovely submission by Hall!

An out of breath Richard Hall thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
