PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Satan Blue (ranked 2495 p4p, 1455 weight class) and Saul Singer (ranked 323 p4p, 209 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Satan Blue!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Saul Singer!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Roosa Järviläinen and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Singer misses with a double jab.
Blue shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Singer defends it nicely.
Blue shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Singer but Singer pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Singer jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Singer keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Satan Blue. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Blue shoots in but no luck this time.
A slow jab from Singer misses its intended target.
Singer stuffs the takedown attempt from Blue. Blue gets slowly back to his feet.

Singer lands with an uppercut that bounces Blue off the cage and back into range.
Blue misses with a takedown
and Singer counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Blue thinking.
Nice sprawl there from Singer as Blue shoots in.

Blue shoots in for a takedown but Singer shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Blue shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Singer sprawls well. Singer wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Blue gets slowly back to his feet.
Singer leaves Blue with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Singer looks to throw the jab but Blue is out of range.
Singer tries to bum rush Blue with a series of wild strikes but Blue uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Satan Blue seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Blue blocks a jab.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Blue.
Singer misses with an uppercut. Blue saw that one coming.
Singer has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far.
Singer throws a lazy uppercut

and Blue counters with a nice double leg into side control. Singer won't be happy with that.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Blue is looking to take a break and control but Singer is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Blue tries to move to full mount but Singer actually manages to regain half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Singer pushes Blue off looking to stand but Blue dives back in and keeps control.

Blue looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Blue throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Blue wants to take a breather but Singer is having none of it.
Blue is really struggling to control Singer but he's trying to hold on to the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Singer is trying to stand.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Blue stalling away here and it's allowed Singer to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Blue in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Blue manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Singer on his heels. He'll look to pass Singer's guard now, I'm sure.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Saul Singer dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

and Singer connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Blue shoots for a double leg takedown but Singer sprawls well. He's pushed Blue's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

enabling Singer to counter with a crisp jab.

and Singer counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Saul Singer seems to be getting the better of the standup.

and Singer counters with a nice right hand that sends Blue toppling to the canvas! Blue scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Singer finish him?!

Blue is rocked!
Blue shoots for a takedown but Singer saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Singer slaps away a takedown attempt from Blue, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Singer looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Singer throws a hook to the side of Blue's head but Blue sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Blue has his takedown stuffed
and Singer counters with a left and a right... and another left... and another!! That last one turned off the lights! Blue has no idea who he is and is as he gazes up at the spotlights. Brutal knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Saul Singer!
