Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jim Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Shaun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones comes to the cage accompanied by Mushroomhead. Shaun comes into a darkened arena with his song building. The Soviettes - "#1 Is Number Two" kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Jim Jones is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jim Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mark Shaun!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Damien Edna and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A lazy left from Jones finds it's target.
Shaun shoots in for a takedown but Jones shows good takedown defense.
Jones will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Shaun tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jones paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Jones is working the combinations to good effect here.
Jones works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Jim Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Jones, as that shot connected.
Jones scores with a jab. Shaun acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Jones ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Shaun moves away.
Jones circles away from the clinch attempt.
The fighters circling - Jones throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Jones throws a right hand that Shaun ducks under and follows up with a left that Shaun also avoids with ease.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Shaun looks for a takedown but Jones sprawls well.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Jones rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Shaun moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Jones smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Jones throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Shaun has a takedown stuffed.
Jones swats away the attempt to clinch by Shaun.
Jones cracks Shaun with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Shaun takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Jones throws out a loose jab but Shaun uses good head movement to avoid it.
Shaun has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.

Jones lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Shaun might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Jones has got the better of the exchanges.

Jones working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shaun doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Shaun manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jim Jones is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Jones pulls Shaun in close to prevent any damage.
Jones bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Shaun's guard.

Shaun has his foot on Jones's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jones works his way back into a safe position though.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jones, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
