PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Eric Osiris (ranked 777 p4p, 983 weight class) and Diego Rios (ranked 86 p4p, 114 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Osiris might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Erbody But Me by Tech N9ne. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

And Osiris counters with a quick kick to the body but Rios blocks it.
Osiris thuds his right hand into Rios's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

It looks like Diego Rios has been cut.

and Osiris counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Osiris pushes Rios away with a front kick.
Rios takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Rios in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Rios has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Rios and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Rios will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

A very excited looking Eric Osiris rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
