PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lito Harrison (ranked 3374 p4p, 5294 weight class) and Marc Horton (ranked 360 p4p, 451 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lito Harrison!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Marc Horton!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harrison lands a nice shot that snaps Horton's head back.
Horton blocks the body kick.
Harrison moves out of range of the strikes.
Horton lands with a straight right. Harrison didn't see that one coming.
Harrison throws an off balance right hand

and Horton counters with a takedown into side control.
The referee asks Horton politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Horton prefers to stall for the moment though.
Horton misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Harrison parries the strikes from Horton easily there. Horton is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Harrison to escape.
Horton creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Harrison sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Horton looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Harrison is avoiding damage well.
Harrison definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Horton creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Harrison sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Horton is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Harrison is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Horton throws a strike aimed at the side of Harrison's head but Harrison avoids it well.
Horton lands an elbow.
Horton trying to control the position but Harrison is working away.

Horton working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Horton moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Harrison is looking to reverse the position.

Horton thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Harrison is looking to regain half guard here but Horton keeps moving and retains side control.
Horton tries to score with some ground and pound. Harrison controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Harrison is trying to control Horton's posture but Horton avoids it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Horton tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Horton has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Horton thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Horton is trying to move to mount but Harrison reverses beautifully and ends up in Horton's guard.

Harrison slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Horton looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Harrison has picked Horton up and slammed him! Horton can't keep hold of the triangle and Harrison manages to pass to side control!

Harrison is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Horton has escaped the position, nice work there.
You can see the frustration on Horton's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Harrison wants to lay and pray for a moment but Horton keeps working.
Horton manages to work his way to half guard, despite Harrison's best efforts.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Harrison is keen to just control but Horton is a slippery customer.
Horton tries to roll over but Harrison keeps him under control.
Horton felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Horton is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Horton moves into full guard.
Horton keeping moving, preventing Harrison from controlling successfully.
Horton has Harrison pulled in close to control his posture.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Harrison avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Harrison trying to control but Horton is working from the bottom.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Horton is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
A big left from Harrison misses.

Lito Harrison seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Horton throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Harrison sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Harrison blocks a head kick by Horton.
Horton looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Horton throws a low kick but Harrison moves out of range easily.
Harrison plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Harrison lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Harrison throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Horton is rocked!

Harrison lands a brutal uppercut that launches Horton off his feet! Horton tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 9:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Lito Harrison!
During a confident post fight interview, Lito Harrison thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
