Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sebastien Gauthier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Van Dam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sebastien Gauthier!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jack Van Dam!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Robert Douchet and Alec Ball.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Dam rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gauthier moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Gauthier fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Gauthier darts in and clinches Van Dam up against the cage.
Gauthier stops a takedown attempt from Van Dam.

Gauthier pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Van Dam shoots in looking for a takedown. Gauthier tries to sprawl out of it but Van Dam keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gauthier manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Van Dam takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

It looks like Jack Van Dam has been cut.
Gauthier scores with a jab.
Gauthier lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nice shot lands for Gauthier.

Van Dam is rocked!
Gauthier lands a nice hook to Van Dam's body. Van Dam takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Van Dam looks gassed!
Gauthier connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Van Dam momentarily.
Van Dam is still on wobbly legs! Can Gauthier finish him?
Gauthier throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Van Dam seems to have recovered his senses.
Gauthier takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Van Dam shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Van Dam showed some decent athleticism there.

Gauthier moves into full guard.
Gauthier trying to keep a closed guard but Van Dam is proving a slippery customer.
Van Dam won't allow Gauthier to sweep him here.

Gauthier looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Gauthier has his foot on Van Dam's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Van Dam works his way back into a safe position though.

Gauthier working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Van Dam doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Van Dam manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Gauthier is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Van Dam drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Van Dam as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Gauthier screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Van Dam! Nice submission victory there!
