Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ziggy Stardust (ranked 1018 p4p, 1661 weight class) and Bobby Bomstaerk (ranked 127 p4p, 203 weight class). Stardust's entrance music is Starman. A fine choice. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 16 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ziggy Stardust!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bobby Bomstaerk!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paulsen Ambrosius and Saam Ante.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bomstaerk changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Stardust looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Bomstaerk is looking to take a break and control but Stardust is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Bomstaerk tries to move to mount but Stardust blocks the move with his legs.
Bomstaerk is chipping away with strikes.

Bomstaerk is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bomstaerk goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Stardust has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Bomstaerk but great work by Stardust.

Stardust has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Ziggy Stardust is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

It looked like Stardust wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

That's time! Stardust's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

A punch lands to the side of Bomstaerk 's head but he takes it in his stride.

It looked like Stardust was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Bomstaerk.

It seemed like Bomstaerk was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Bobby Bomstaerk is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

It looks like Stardust has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.

Ziggy Stardust has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bobby Bomstaerk.

and Stardust counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Horrible takedown attempt by Bomstaerk or perhaps it was just good defense by Stardust, which made it look bad.

Bomstaerk throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Stardust was covering up waiting for the punch and Bomstaerk finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Bomstaerk lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Bomstaerk.
Bomstaerk takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Bomstaerk closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Stardust manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Bomstaerk keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Bomstaerk drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Stardust gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Bomstaerk has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Bomstaerk has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Stardust is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Bomstaerk's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Stardust escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Stardust throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Bomstaerk on the side of the head.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Stardust is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Bomstaerk can do to turn this around?
Bomstaerk takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

and Stardust makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Stardust.
Stardust dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Bomstaerk. That did some damage!

Stardust darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

and Stardust counters with a crisp one two that drops Bomstaerk! Stardust thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Bomstaerk to his feet! Bomstaerk is in big trouble!

Bomstaerk shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Stardust pinned against the cage. Stardust gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bomstaerk is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Stardust drops Bomstaerk with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Bomstaerk looks back up at him and smiles so Stardust waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Bomstaerk manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Stardust on his heels. He'll look to pass Stardust's guard now, I'm sure.

Bomstaerk sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Stardust's guard.

Bomstaerk thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Stardust's head.
Bomstaerk is looking to take a break and control but Stardust is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Bomstaerk looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Stardust with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Bomstaerk is working for a kimura but Stardust is defending it quite comfortably.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
