Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Dukes (ranked 4336 p4p, 5849 weight class) and Everett Zuniga (ranked 465 p4p, 589 weight class). Everett Zuniga has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Johnny Dukes's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Everett Zuniga!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dukes lands a left and a right that send Zuniga crashing to the mat, dazed. Dukes thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Zuniga is rocked!

It looks like Everett Zuniga has been cut.
Dukes fails in his attempt to clinch.
Zuniga is still on wobbly legs! Can Dukes finish him?

Zuniga clinches with his opponent.
Zuniga seems to have recovered his senses.
Dukes throws a knee to the head but misses.

Zuniga escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Zuniga takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Zuniga closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Dukes pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

Dukes gets control of Zuniga's arms and successfully pulls guard. Dukes will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Dukes looking to hit a scissor sweep but Zuniga is one step ahead there.

Zuniga decides to return to a standing position.
Dukes fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Zuniga has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Dukes lands a front kick.
Zuniga tries to score a power double leg takedown but Dukes sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Zuniga somewhat.

Zuniga pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Zuniga tries to clinch but Dukes is having none of it.
Dukes scores with a head kick. Zuniga tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Dukes throws a head kick that misses.
Zuniga changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Dukes lands with a kick to the temple. Zuniga shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Zuniga lands with a nice combination. Dukes backs away looking to recover.

It looks like Johnny Dukes has been cut.

Zuniga avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Dukes throws a big elbow that misses.
Dukes pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Zuniga is keeping the position for now.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dukes forces his way into half guard.
Dukes is keen to just control but Zuniga is a slippery customer.
Zuniga is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Dukes scores with a couple of nice shots.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Zuniga trying to control but Dukes postures up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Dukes perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Dukes throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Zuniga on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Dukes working the head and body with strikes.
Dukes prevents Zuniga from improving his position.
Dukes content to control rather than advance.
Zuniga is trying to stand up here but Dukes is controlling him well.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Zuniga misses with a takedown attempt - Dukes sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Zuniga throws a series of punches but Dukes avoids them all with ease.

Dukes tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Zuniga swivels and escapes.
A left lands for Dukes.
Zuniga shoots in but Dukes avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Dukes tries a low kick but Zuniga avoids it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dukes stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Dukes wants it to stay on the feet.
Johnny Dukes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Everett Zuniga.
Dukes lands a nice hook to Zuniga's body. Zuniga takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
