Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Reyes (ranked 4699 p4p, 5281 weight class) and Ron Jacobs (ranked 396 p4p, 411 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Antonio Reyes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ron Jacobs!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Aleksandr Martynov and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reyes scores with a punch to the head.
Jacobs steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Reyes.
Jacobs has his takedown stuffed
and Reyes counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Jacobs gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Jacobs has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Reyes off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Jacobs drops his hands momentarily and Reyes takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jacobs shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Reyes as he avoids it easily.
Reyes has been working on his boxing with his coaches at St Petersburg MMA Gym in the buildup to the fight.

Reyes shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Jacobs can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Reyes controls the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jacobs wants to sweep but no luck.

Jacobs really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Reyes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Reyes stands up and waves to Jacobs to follow him.
Jacobs shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Reyes but Reyes pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Antonio Reyes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ron Jacobs.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jacobs shoots for a double leg takedown but Reyes sprawls well. He's pushed Jacobs's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Reyes bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Jacobs uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Reyes.

Reyes closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Jacobs's guard.
Jacobs is looking to stand back up but Reyes counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Jacobs.

Reyes passes the guard and advances to mount!
Reyes controlling the position easily from mount.
Reyes punching from mount but Jacobs doing a good job of avoiding damage.

Poor strikes thrown by Reyes there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Reyes jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Jacobs manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Jacobs is looking for a sweep.
Reyes is staying tight to Jacobs's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Jacobs is trying to improve his position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Jacobs is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Reyes is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Jacobs shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Reyes's guard.

Reyes is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Reyes lands a right hand.
Reyes tries to throw a body punch but Jacobs avoids it by throwing Reyes back against the cage.
Reyes tries to work over Jacobs's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Jacobs breaks the clinch.
Jacobs looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Jacobs closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Reyes explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
We've been informed that Jacobs has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Antonio Reyes is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Jacobs fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Reyes, pushing him back against the cage.
Reyes prevents the takedown attempt.
Jacobs goes for a takedown attempt but Reyes pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

No joy there for Reyes, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
No luck for Jacobs with that takedown attempt.
Jacobs looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Reyes is fending him off so far but Jacobs persists. Nope, Reyes circles away and we're back to standing.
An attempted straight right counter from Reyes misses the target.
Reyes cracks Jacobs with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Reyes is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Jacobs can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
