The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Ren Mimura and Kenichi Hosakawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Watanabe throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Watanabe misses the shot to the body.
Watanabe misses with a straight left.
Mir fails to land with a series of punches.
Kai Watanabe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Watanabe shoots for a takedown but Mir saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Mir shoots in and bounces Watanabe off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard.

Watanabe is looking for a triangle here but Mir uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Watanabe is trying to improve his position.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Watanabe is trying to control Mir's posture but Mir avoids it.

Mir is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Watanabe is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Watanabe tries to buck Mir off but Mir is having none of it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Mir wants to lay and pray for a moment but Watanabe keeps working.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Good work by Mir as he checks the leg kick.
Watanabe throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Watanabe throws a right hand that Mir ducks under and follows up with a left that Mir also avoids with ease.
Watanabe fails with the takedown

and Mir counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Watanabe had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Mir is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Watanabe Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Mir's back instead.

Watanabe is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Mir won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Watanabe off his unconscious opponent!
