Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rafinha Soares (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fabio Melo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Rafinha Soares has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Rafinha Soares seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A leg kick checked by Soares.
Melo will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Melo wants to slow Soares down by chopping away at his legs.
Soares checks a low kick from Melo.
Melo connects with a solid leg kick.

Soares closes the distance and clinches.
Melo tries to break the clinch but Soares is controlling the position.

Soares manages to pull guard.

Soares has his foot on Melo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Melo works his way back into a safe position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Melo won't allow Soares to get back to his feet.

Soares is looking to stand up but Melo isn't so interested in that idea.
Melo wants to get up but he can't break Soares's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Soares looking for subs off his back but Melo has passed one foot through into half guard.

Melo wants to stand up but Soares has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Melo lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Soares has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Soares and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Melo shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Melo does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Melo misses with a low kick.
Melo walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Soares checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Melo pivots, looking for a leg kick but Soares is out of range and Melo settles back down.

Soares stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Melo.
Melo throws a solid leg kick but Soares takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Melo.
Melo scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Melo is looking to chop away at Soares's legs.

Melo throws out a leg kick but Soares moves out of range and Melo only half commits.
Melo fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Soares checks it well.

Melo lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Melo is looking to slow Soares down with leg kicks.

Melo dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Soares. That did some damage!

Melo tries a low kick but Soares avoids it.

Soares closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Soares seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Melo does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Soares looks to land a strike but Melo avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Soares trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Melo wants to stand up but Soares is controlling him.

Soares drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Melo dives on top into guard.

Soares has a closed guard, preventing Melo from standing up.

Soares is looking to sinch up a triangle. Melo throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Soares's body to avoid the submission. Soares has instead reached around Melo's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Soares arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
