PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Murha Puro (ranked 1459 p4p, 2278 weight class) and Projekti Yksi (ranked 210 p4p, 313 weight class). Projekti Yksi told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Projekti Yksi!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Frank Dennis and Stewart Dunkirk.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Puro swinging wildly here.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Yksi has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Yksi looks for a takedown but Puro sprawls well.
Puro misses with a looping left.
Puro throws a body punch but Yksi moves out of range.
Yksi let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Yksi seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Puro does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Yksi shoots in looking for a takedown. Puro tries to sprawl out of it but Yksi keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Puro manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
