Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dennis Cunningham (ranked 1177 p4p, 1940 weight class) and Cactus Jack (ranked 124 p4p, 205 weight class). Cactus Jack will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Dennis Cunningham!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Cactus Jack!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Elvis Blanc and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jack shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Cunningham defends it nicely.

Cunningham drives through with a takedown into guard.
Jack looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Cunningham works over Jack with some ground and pound from guard.
Jack tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cunningham wants to control from the top but Jack keeps moving.
Cunningham slips nicely into half guard.
Jack is pressing down on Cunningham's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cunningham working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Cunningham won't allow Jack to sweep him here.
Cunningham wants to control from the top but Jack keeps moving.
Cunningham's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Jack not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Cunningham stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jack swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Jack looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cunningham is one step ahead there.
Jack is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Cunningham scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Jack misses with a series of wild punches.
Jack fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Cunningham shoots in and gets a takedown into Jack's guard.
Jack is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Cunningham dives into side control.

Jack is not content to let Cunningham control the position.
Jack is looking for a sweep.

Jack is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Jack moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Jack had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Cunningham defends it easily.

Cunningham tries to pass the half guard into mount. Jack knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Cunningham is keen to just control but Jack is a slippery customer.
Cunningham stops Jack from getting back to his feet.
Jack is controlling Cunningham's trapped leg to prevent Cunningham from advancing to side control.
Well, if Cunningham is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Cunningham wants to free his trapped foot but Jack is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Cunningham is thwarting Jack's attempts to control the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Cunningham takes a swing at Jack's ribcage but misses.
Cunningham misses with the combination.
Jack swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Cunningham connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Jack fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Dennis Cunningham has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cactus Jack.
Jack looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Jack takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Cunningham jabs Jack to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Cunningham on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Jack shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Cunningham appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Jack looks winded!
Jack misses the jab.
Cunningham lands a glancing blow to the side of Jack's head.
Cunningham connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Cunningham misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Jack.
Jack swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Cunningham is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Jack's half guard.
Jack is looking to control Cunningham's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Jack avoid being mounted?

Cunningham is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Jack has managed to free his arm - good work.
Nice strikes from Cunningham there.

Jack is refusing to be controlled, as Cunningham sits in half guard.
Jack felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Cunningham looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jack with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Cunningham passes into side control, despite Jack's attempt to control the position.
You can see the frustration on Jack's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Cunningham scores with a couple of short elbows.
Jack tries to buck Cunningham off but Cunningham is having none of it.

Cunningham lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Cunningham happy to just control the position for now.
Cunningham is looking to take a break and control but Jack is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Cunningham is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Jack is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Jack is trying to control Cunningham's posture but Cunningham avoids it.

Jack is looking for a sweep.
Cunningham scores with a couple of short elbows.

Cunningham is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jack is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Cunningham tries to advance to mount but Jack denies him.
Cunningham tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Cunningham tries to move to mount but Jack blocks the move with his legs.
Jack takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Dennis Cunningham dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Cunningham lands the left hand.
Jack doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Cunningham counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Cactus Jack is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jack walks into a left hand.
Jack tries for a takedown but Cunningham circles away easily
enabling Cunningham to counter with a crisp jab.
Jack tries a head kick but it misses.
Jack changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cunningham tries to avoid it but Jack manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cunningham to the ground. Cunningham escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Cunningham half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Dennis Cunningham has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cactus Jack.
Jack drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Cactus Jack seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jack looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jack misses with a takedown attempt - Cunningham sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Cunningham darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Jack is looking to get back to is feet but Cunningham passes into side control.
Jack is breathing heavily.

Cunningham in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

Jack is rocked!
Cunningham is staying tight to Jack's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Jack is still in real trouble! Can Cunningham finish him?
Cunningham scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Jack is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Cunningham can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
