Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lou Valentine (ranked 531 p4p, 632 weight class) and Agent Smith (ranked 74 p4p, 87 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 16 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lou Valentine!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Agent Smith!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valentine moves out of range of the body kick from Smith.
Smith moves out of range of the leg kick from Valentine.
Smith throws a jab when Valentine was well out of range.
We've been hearing reports that Valentine has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Smith throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

and Valentine counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Valentine uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Smith.

Valentine walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

It looked like Valentine was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Valentine has taken the fight to the clinch.

Smith is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Valentine presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Smith throws a head kick that misses.
Smith throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Valentine moves in looking to clinch but Smith pushes him off.
Valentine takes a kick to the side of the head.
Valentine misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Smith! But no joy.

Valentine lands with an overhand left.
Valentine connects with a right hand. Smith shakes it off.
Smith fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Smith swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Valentine feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Valentine throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Smith stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Valentine fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Smith.

Valentine closes the distance and clinches.
Valentine lands on the inside with an uppercut.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Valentine creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Smith swings wildly with an uppercut but Valentine uses good head movement to avoid it.
Valentine misses with a body punch.

Smith breaks from the clinch.

Smith drops Valentine with a beautiful combination! Valentine stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Smith is looking for the KO!

It looks like Lou Valentine has been cut.

Valentine scores with the left hand. Smith knows he should have avoided that one.
Smith swings and misses with a shot to the body

and Valentine counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Valentine has gone for a leg lock! Smith slips out almost immediately though and dives into Valentine's guard.

Valentine had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Smith defends it easily.

Smith is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Valentine has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Smith can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Smith won't allow Valentine to sweep him here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Smith fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Valentine manages to avoid it.
Valentine fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Smith.

Smith is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

As Smith backs away, Valentine returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Valentine misses with a jab, cross combination.
Smith scores with a nice head shot.
Smith throws a hook but Valentine avoids it easily.
Valentine thuds a left hand into Smith's body.
Valentine looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Smith lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Valentine uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Smith swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
As Smith looks to move away, Valentine throws a big counter combo but Smith just gets out of the way.
Valentine lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Smith circles away quickly and effectively.

Valentine looking to score a takedown here. Smith is defending well but Valentine drives through and ends up in Smith's guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Valentine works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Valentine seems to be looking for submissions.
Smith is looking for a sweep. Valentine is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Valentine is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Smith sees it coming and defends easily.
