Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Butler Hickok (ranked 3104 p4p, 2087 weight class) and Amri Mbeki (ranked 171 p4p, 121 weight class). Mbeki comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Intro kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Amri Mbeki acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Butler Hickok!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Amri Mbeki!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Ackerman and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mbeki shoots in and bounces Hickok off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Hickok has his hands on Mbeki's head, controlling the position.
Hickok knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mbeki on the ground.

Hickok is working Mbeki over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Hickok sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Mbeki's guard.

Hickok is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mbeki doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hickok.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hickok throws a jab when Mbeki was well out of range.
Hickok stuffs the takedown.
Mbeki is looking to clinch.
Hickok looks to land a combination but Mbeki avoids it well.
Mbeki darts in looking for a takedown but Hickok gets double underhooks and turns Mbeki into the cage.
Hickok is looking for a counter combo.
Mbeki shoots in looking for a takedown. Hickok tries to sprawl out of it but Mbeki keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hickok manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
James Butler Hickok has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Amri Mbeki.

Hickok takes a swing at Mbeki's ribcage but misses.

Mbeki avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Mbeki changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hickok looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Hickok lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

Hickok lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mbeki circles away quickly and effectively.

Mbeki's coach down at Gold Samurai's Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Mbeki's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Hickok is looking to wear down Mbeki with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Hickok holds on and takes a little breather.

Hickok is looking for a triangle but Mbeki pushes his legs off easily.

Hickok lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Well Hickok has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
