Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Brogan (ranked 5106 p4p, 5135 weight class) and George Pogie (ranked 480 p4p, 483 weight class). Brogan's entrance music is Immortal Technique - Open Your Eyes. A fine choice. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pogie shoots in looking for a takedown but Brogan manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Pogie's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Pogie's coach down at Cozad The Island was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Pogie's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Pogie drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brogan is trying to control Pogie's posture but Pogie avoids it.
Pogie trying to control the position but Brogan is working away.
Pogie looks up at the clock and then as Brogan takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Pogie smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

It looks like Michael Brogan has been cut.
Pogie advances to mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pogie dominating with strikes here.
Pogie lands a big shot there that rocks Brogan but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Pogie pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Michael Brogan's cut is getting worse.

Pogie lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Michael Brogan's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Brogan is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Brogan is bucking up trying to escape but Pogie cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Jeez, Michael Brogan's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Michael Brogan's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
