Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bugsy Seigel (ranked 201 p4p, 225 weight class) and Douglas Sampson (ranked 24 p4p, 28 weight class). Seigel comes to the cage accompanied by Paradise City - Guns N' Roses. The crowd seem to be enjoying Sampson's choice of entrance music: Sunshine (ft. Anthony Hamilton) - Twista . Douglas Sampson has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Bugsy Seigel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Douglas Sampson!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Percy O'Donnell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Sampson throws a body kick that misses
and Seigel counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Sampson clinches.
Sampson tries to work over Seigel's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Seigel pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Sampson tries a head kick but it misses.
Seigel swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Seigel comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sampson slips under a jab.
Sampson throws a shot from downtown. Seigel moves away and avoids it.
Seigel thinks about countering with a body kick.

Sampson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Seigel.
Seigel moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

It looks like Douglas Sampson has been cut.

Sampson closes the distance and pushes Seigel back into the cage.
Seigel swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Sampson lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Seigel crunches a lovely knee into Sampson's ribcage.
Sampson goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
I was talking to Seigel's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Sampson swings away with an uppercut that misses.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Seigel.
Seigel lands a left hand that snaps the head of Sampson backwards.
Seigel with an attempt at a knee that misses.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sampson lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Sampson lands with a left to the head.

Seigel breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Seigel swings for the body but Sampson moves out of range.
Sampson appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Seigel misses with a body punch
and Sampson counters with a low kick, right behind Seigel 's knee.
Seigel throws out a loose jab but Sampson uses good head movement to avoid it.
Sampson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Seigel paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Seigel is looking to counter punch.

Nice jab there from Sampson.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A swing and a miss from Seigel.
Sampson tries to clinch but Seigel is having none of it.
Seigel lands with a kick to the ribs.
Seigel fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Sampson on the side of the head.
Sampson misses with a looping left.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sampson takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Sampson is looking to clinch but Seigel is avoiding it.
Seigel throws a looping overhand right but Sampson ducks down to avoid it.
Sampson lunges at Seigel with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Seigel's hand.
Seigel looks to score with a jab to the body but Sampson is just out of range.
It seemed like Sampson was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Seigel throws the kick towards the body but Sampson avoids it.
Sampson swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Bugsy Seigel dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Douglas Sampson's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Sampson throws a right and a left that Seigel avoids nicely.
Sampson takes a swing at Seigel's ribcage but misses.
Bugsy Seigel is winning the standup battle so far.
Sampson moves away from the strike by Seigel.
Seigel takes a body punch but keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sampson fakes the leg kick and cracks Seigel in the body.

Sampson closes the distance and clinches.

Seigel prevents a body shot from Sampson.
Seigel can't break the clinch.
Seigel blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Sampson misses with a hook from the clinch.
Seigel works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Seigel pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Seigel lands a big head kick that sends Sampson tumbling to the mat! Seigel takes a step backwards and waves Sampson back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Sampson is rocked!
Sampson is looking to clinch.

Seigel cracks Sampson with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Sampson looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Seigel finish him?
Sampson is still on wobbly legs! Can Seigel finish him?
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sampson throws a lazy head kick
and Seigel counters with a left to the body.
Sampson seems to have recovered his senses.
Sampson is breathing heavily.
Seigel lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Sampson up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Seigel from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Sampson's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Bugsy Seigel!
Bugsy Seigel seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
Douglas Sampson was interviewed post fight and said 'Nothing goes over my head… my reflexes are too fast, but my famously huge turd pre fight left me feeling dizzy and I was seeing double vision the whole fight'.
