Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eugene Kalivas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dickel Goldman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Goldman has chosen This is Vlad Boyeslav Now as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Eugene Kalivas has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eugene Kalivas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dickel Goldman!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Steve Montenegro and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kalivas decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Kalivas is taking a breather. Goldman says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Goldman keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Kalivas escapes and gets back to his feet.
Eugene Kalivas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A leg kick checked by Goldman.
Kalivas throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Goldman moves out of range of the leg kick from Kalivas.

Goldman has Kalivas up against the cage in a clinch.

Kalivas throws a punch but it's blocked by Goldman.
Goldman is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Kalivas is defending well for now.

Goldman throws a knee to the head but misses.
Goldman landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Kalivas could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Goldman tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Kalivas's elbow.

Kalivas tries a body shot but Goldman blocks it.

Kalivas tries to pull guard but Goldman won't allow it.

Goldman is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.

Goldman crunches a lovely knee into Kalivas's ribcage.
Kalivas is trying to force a seperation but Goldman has the dominant position.
Goldman effectively controlling the action here.
Kalivas throws a punch but it's blocked by Goldman.
Goldman tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Kalivas tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Goldman avoids it.
Goldman is trying to stall.
Stalling in the clinch from Kalivas.

Both guys are working to get underhooks.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Kalivas.
Kalivas's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Goldman trying to control the position but instead, Kalivas has worked for underhooks and has pushed Goldman into the cage.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Kalivas.

Kalivas ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Kalivas no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kalivas uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Kalivas tries to bum rush Goldman with a series of wild strikes but Goldman uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kalivas connects with the punch.
Kalivas moves in looking to clinch but Goldman pushes him off.
Kalivas doesn't manage to clinch there - Goldman circles away.
Kalivas throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Goldman.
Kalivas fails to land with a series of punches.
A combination from Kalivas does no damage.
Kalivas stalks Goldman and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Goldman's face. Goldman staggers backwards, shaken.
No luck for Goldman with that takedown attempt.

Kalivas gets the takedown into side control.
Kalivas taking a breather here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Eugene Kalivas will probably get the nod.
That's time! Kalivas's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Kalivas fails with a takedown attempt.
Kalivas moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Kalivas shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Goldman but Goldman pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Goldman dodges the punch combination from Kalivas.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kalivas wants to clinch up but Goldman keeps it at a distance.
Kalivas connects with a looping right hand.
Goldman slips a jab and a cross from Kalivas.
Eugene Kalivas is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Kalivas closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Goldman did well to prevent Kalivas getting side control.
Kalivas prevents Goldman from improving his position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kalivas in particular looking to stall.

Kalivas tries to clinch

and Goldman counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Kalivas on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kalivas tries to get out of the position.
Kalivas is trying to maintain the position but Goldman is very close to passing his half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Kalivas is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

Kalivas is looking to escape.
Goldman wants to take a breather but Kalivas is having none of it.
Kalivas gets back to full guard.
Goldman preventing the sweep.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Kalivas is pulling down on Goldman's head to control his posture.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kalivas is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eugene Kalivas dominated that second round.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Kalivas rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Goldman moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Kalivas tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Goldman counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Kalivas moves in looking to clinch but Goldman pushes him off.

Kalivas shoots in and bounces Goldman off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Kalivas has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Goldman is proving hard to escape from.
Goldman takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kalivas wants to control from the top but Goldman keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Kalivas tries to free his leg and advance position but Goldman is retaining full guard.

Eugene Kalivas is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Goldman slips a jab and a cross from Kalivas.
Goldman throws a sloppy head kick and Kalivas moves out of range easily.
Kalivas falls off balance throwing a combination

and Goldman counters by moving into the clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Kalivas.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Kalivas avoiding damage as Goldman throws knees to the body.
Dickel Goldman has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Goldman throws an elbow but it's blocked.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Eugene Kalivas.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kalivas, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
