Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Tatsuro Taira (ranked 4039 p4p, 4974 weight class) and Ben Gilbert (ranked 263 p4p, 295 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Ben Gilbert enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Taira shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Gilbert manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Gilbert looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Taira slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Taira tries to free his leg and advance position but Gilbert is retaining full guard.

Gilbert really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Taira. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Taira keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Gilbert's head.

Taira drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Taira jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Taira is trying to get an arm triangle but Gilbert is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
