Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Leandro Powers (ranked 4982 p4p, 5257 weight class) and Logan Mathis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Powers is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Leandro Powers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Logan Mathis!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Michael Johnstone and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mathis shoots for a double leg takedown but Powers sprawls well. He's pushed Mathis's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Powers seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Powers looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Mathis shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Powers pinned against the cage. Powers gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Mathis will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Leandro Powers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Logan Mathis.
Mathis wants to clinch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Mathis.
Leandro Powers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Powers misses with a double jab.
Mathis is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Powers's half guard.
Powers scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Mathis manages to mount him!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Mathis is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Powers is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Powers flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Mathis anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Powers and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Mathis slips an arm under Powers chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Mathis has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Mathis is squeezing on Powers like an anaconda would it's prey. Powers fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Logan Mathis!
