Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Desmond Gallagher (ranked 4482 p4p, 4524 weight class) and Joao Santos (ranked 374 p4p, 380 weight class). Gallagher comes into the arena with HIGH blaring out of the sound system. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Joao Santos!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Darius Henderson and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gallagher fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Santos on the side of the head.
Santos throws an off balance right hand
and Gallagher counters with a left to the body.
Santos clinches with his opponent.
Santos wants to take the fight to the mat but Gallagher manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Gallagher works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Santos is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Gallagher is defending well.
Gallagher escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Santos misses with a shot to the body
and Gallagher counters with a stiff right hand.
Santos moves into the clinch.

and Gallagher connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Joao Santos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gallagher feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Santos sprawling to the canvas! Santos rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Gallagher finish him?!

A little feinted left hand from Gallagher on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

and Gallagher counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Gallagher lands with an uppercut that bounces Santos off the cage and back into range.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Santos thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Santos thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Gallagher's head.
Santos wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gallagher keeps working.

Still in half guard, Santos seems content to control.
Santos wants to take a breather but Gallagher is having none of it.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Santos in particular looking to stall.

Santos lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Santos throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gallagher.

Santos takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gallagher bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Santos's head backwards.

It looked like Gallagher was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Gallagher sends Santos crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Gallagher is motioning to the referee to let Santos up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gallagher scores with a jab to the jaw.
Gallagher cracks Santos with a hook to the temple - Santos is on wobbly legs here! Gallagher swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Santos falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Gallagher wins by TKO!
