PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tiki Fahalo (ranked 4031 p4p, 4009 weight class) and Freaky Craig (ranked 414 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tiki Fahalo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Freaky Craig!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, David Hoff and Santiago Holmes.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A decent looking cross lands there for Craig.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Craig, as that shot connected.
Fahalo lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

It looks like Freaky Craig has been cut.
Freaky Craig seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fahalo waves his right hand out in front of him, looking to distract Craig. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Craig to the canvas! Can he finish him!?
This has been an exciting period of action!

Fahalo thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Craig pulls Fahalo in close to his closed guard and prevents Fahalo from doing any damage or advancing position.
Craig keeping moving, preventing Fahalo from controlling successfully.

Fahalo drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Craig manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Fahalo has Craig in his guard.

Fahalo will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Fahalo is looking for a triangle but Craig pushes his legs off easily.
Fahalo wants to sweep here but Craig controlling him for the moment.

Fahalo has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Craig can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Craig is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Fahalo is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Craig is aware though and is defending well.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Fahalo is on top in guard.

Fahalo wants to control from the top but Craig keeps moving.

Fahalo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Craig pulls Fahalo in close to prevent any damage.

Fahalo might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Craig looking to hit a scissor sweep but Fahalo is one step ahead there.
Craig utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Craig pulls Fahalo in close to prevent any damage.
Fahalo trying to control but Craig is working from the bottom.
Fahalo slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
An elbow from Fahalo crashes against the mat.
Craig tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Fahalo wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Fahalo postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Craig wants to control but Fahalo postures up.
The ground and pound from Fahalo seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Fahalo misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Fahalo has hold of Craig's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Craig seems comfortable defending it but Fahalo has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Craig is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Craig is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Fahalo couldn't care less - he's delighted!
