PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nathan Pourre (ranked 4087 p4p, 3434 weight class) and Sigandi Legend Timo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nathan Pourre!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sigandi Legend Timo!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Dillan Fox and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Timo throws a hook but Pourre blocks it.

Pourre feints and as Timo raises his hands in defense, Pourre changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Pourre trying to control the position from guard on top but Timo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Pourre pushing down on Timo's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Pourre controlling the action here.

Pourre is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pourre seems to be working for a kimura but Timo defends the submission attempt.
Timo preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pourre is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Pourre in particular looking to stall.
Timo is trying to control but can't.
Timo is looking to improve his position.
Well, if Pourre is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Pourre seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Timo for as long as he can get away with.
Timo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pourre. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Pourre wants to control but Timo is keeping him busy.
Pourre is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Timo is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Pourre connects with a nice short shot to Timo's temple.

Pourre works his way into side control.
Timo is trying to control Pourre's posture but Pourre avoids it.
Pourre content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Pourre misses with a head kick.

Timo throws a shot from downtown. Pourre moves away and avoids it.
Timo keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Pourre bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Timo enables Pourre to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Timo manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Pourre will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Timo not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Nathan Pourre dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Nice shot by Pourre.
Timo throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Timo looks to land a left hand but Pourre moved out of range nicely.
Timo thows a left - swing and a miss!
A slow jab from Timo misses its intended target.
Pourre has a takedown stuffed.
Pourre slips a straight right by Timo.
Pourre bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
A swing and a miss from Timo.
Pourre tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Timo manages to circle out of the way.
Pourre looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Timo is fending him off so far but Pourre persists. Nope, Timo circles away and we're back to standing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pourre lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Timo circles away quickly and effectively.
Pourre staying out of range there.
Pourre moves out of range of the strikes.

Timo gets caught napping as Pourre dives in and scores a takedown. Timo manages to retain guard.
Timo is looking to stand back up but Pourre counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Timo.

Pourre is thwarting Timo's attempts to control the position.
Pourre throwing shots but Timo is blocking nicely.
Pourre not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Timo is trying to control but can't.
Timo is breathing heavily.
Pourre thows a huge punch but Timo dodges it nicely.
Pourre is trying to control. Timo wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
It looks like Pourre is going to stand back up.

Timo has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pourre is working away from the top position though.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Pourre in particular looking to stall.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Pourre tries to stand and escape but Timo is controlling the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Nice sprawl there from Timo as Pourre shoots in.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nathan Pourre. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Timo swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Pourre.
Sigandi Legend Timo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pourre tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Pourre shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Pourre was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Timo tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

Pourre sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Timo taps out!
