The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ferriera tries to close the distance and clinch but Chong Jr swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Ferriera tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Chong Jr drops down looking for a counter takedown but Ferriera sprawls and moves away.
A slow jab from Ferriera misses its intended target.
Chong Jr is looking to counter the offense by Ferriera and move into the clinch.
Ferriera fails in his attempt to clinch.

Chong Jr swings for the body but Ferriera moves out of range.

and Chong Jr counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Ferriera looking for a guillotine here but Chong Jr defends easily.
Chong Jr trying to control but Ferriera is working from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ferriera is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Ferriera is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Chong Jr defends well.

Chong Jr tries to free his leg and advance position but Ferriera is retaining full guard.
Ferriera is looking to cinch up a triangle. Chong Jr throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Ferriera's body to avoid the submission. Ferriera has instead reached around Chong Jr's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Ferriera arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
