Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Zoltan Pekhart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chuck Liddell is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Zoltan Pekhart!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Chuck Liddell!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Chris Edwards and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Liddell lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pekhart circles away quickly and effectively.
Liddell tries to score a power double leg takedown but Pekhart sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Liddell somewhat.
Liddell throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Pekhart shoots and misses
and Liddell makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Liddell scores with a jab to the jaw.
Pekhart shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Liddell counters with a stiff right hand.
Liddell closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Liddell lands a really nice looking cross but Pekhart seems unphased.
No luck for Pekhart with that takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Zoltan Pekhart. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Liddell goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Pekhart closes this distance looking for a takedown but Liddell circles away.

Pekhart shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Liddell sprawls well. Liddell wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pekhart gets slowly back to his feet.

Pekhart feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Pekhart has gone for a leg lock! Liddell slips out almost immediately though and dives into Pekhart's guard.

Pekhart working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Liddell doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Liddell manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Pekhart is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pekhart is trying to drag Liddell to the mat but Liddell just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
